Poor Isamu is a stand-up comedian who is struggling to get another hit. He presented his comedy routine at a theater, but became depressed after he failed to get a response from the audience each and every day. One day, on his way home, Isamu heard a voice and followed it to the river as if he were being called. There, he saw the yōkai Sara-Kozō washing plates while he cheerfully sang, "Pettara Petarako." Isamu listens and decides to use the song in his routine. Isamu's song and dance rise in popularity. However, Sara-Kozō finds out that his song has been stolen and becomes furious.
