While taking shelter from the rain in a limestone cave, Melmo and Prof. Waregarasu meet a couple named Tsumura and Chiyoko. They are actually hiding in the cave and have apparently have run away from their homes. Then, Chiyoko`s father breaks into the cave and threatens Tsumura at gunpoint to part with his daughter. Her father grows impatient with the unyielding Tsumura, and shoots the gun at the ceiling. The impact of the gunshot causes the ceiling to collapse, and Melmo, Tsumura, and the party is all trapped in the limestone cave.
