A muffled sound rings down a back alleyway in the rain. When Kogoro and Conan run to the source of the sound, they find Kikuchi unconscious in the driver seat of a car parked near an intersection. In front of his car is the bleeding and dead Tsutsumi. Kikuchi is shocked when comes to and sees Tsutsumi`s body. Kikuchi and Tsutsumi were once coworkers. Kikuchi testifies that a man with an umbrella suddenly jumped into the intersection, and while he quickly slammed on the brakes, he couldn`t stop in time.
