Kogoro is hired to find the missing painter Aoki by his wife. Conan determines Aoki is in Tokugawa Prefecture`s Uozo from the painting Aoki sent his wife Midori. Kogoro, Conan, Ran, and Midori discover Aoki`s drowned corpse in Uozu. They investigate the inn where Aoki was staying and interview the manager Hayashi. When Conan sees the painting in the photo, he noticies something was added. The data from the day Aoki took the photo had been erased from his digital camera. Later, permanent part-timer Akagi, traveler Shirakawa, and fisherman Ishiguro all emerge as suspects...
