While walking through a residential neighborhood in Koneru after finishing a job, Kogoro hears a scream. He follows the scream and finds a man named Esaka Ritsuo sitting on the ground. Apparently someone pushed his back while he was waiting for the signal to change and was nearly hit by a car. At the detective agency, Conan and Kogoro listen to Esaka`s story.
