Yoruichi appears as Ichigo prepares to face Squad captains Kuchiki and Ukitake. In order to save Ichigo from a fool`s battle, Yoruichi pounds an anesthetic into Ichigo, rendering him unconscious. Yoruichi`s flash steps prevent the two of them from being struck by Kuchiki, and she promises to return in three days when Ichigo will be stronger. Meanwhile, Orihime decides that she and Uryu should disguise themselves as Soul Reapers to reach Rukia`s cell.
