Synopsis

Yagi Takeru has been living in the Touma family's house since his parents are gone. He was raised by Touma Rokunosuke, the head of the house. He is surrounded by many people such as Yamato Takeshi, his best friend-cum-rival from the kendo club, the Shiratori sisters, Kotono and Asuka, and his childhood friend, Oosu Seri. Life has been blissful until one day, an earthquake strikes the school and everything changes. Takeru awakens to find that the school looks as if it has been abandoned for centuries and reduced to ruins. He also realize that all the teachers and students have disappeared as well. He meets up with Seri and Asuka and they fled from the ruins, only to realize that the town they used to live in is completely empty. Subsequently, people wrapped in cloaks appear before him. They were told that they have been brought to another world.

VOICES FROM THE DREAMS
In Takeru`s dreams, he hears a girl call out to him, saying she needs his strength to save the world. In the waking world, a new transfer student, yet also a familiar face, joins Takeru`s class.

A STRANGE WORLD
When Takeru comes to, he finds himself in what appears to be their school, but it`s completely destroyed and overrun with greenery. After meeting with the others, they begin to investigate what has happened to them.

PARTED FRIENDS
In the midst of a chaotic battle, Takeru must protect his friends. The group meets the village chief, Amaterasu, whom teaches them the nature of the world they find themselves in.

THE WAY THIS WORLD IS
A weakened soldier returns to the base, and Takeru learns that Takeshi may have sided with the evil spirits. Takeru asks Kagutsuchi for permission to meet with the person who may have seen Takeshi.

ATTACK
Mai still hasn`t returned. When Seri and Sakuya go out looking for her, they find her collapsed in the middle of nowhere. On their way back to the village they make a startling discovery.

FOUR SACRED BEASTS
They group learns that Sakuya may have the power to return everyone to their original world. In order to help her use the anti-spirit technique they need, they seek out the help of the four sacred beasts.

CONFRONTATION IN A FORTRESS
Takeru goes berserk when Asuka and Mai are taken by the enemy. The four sacred beasts help Takeru and his friends in their rescue mission as they set out for the evil spirit`s fortress.

A PEACEFUL TIME
Takeru`s group has returned to their original world with Sakuya in tow. They enjoy showing her the differences between the two worlds, but Sakuya can`t help worrying about the state of affairs back in Nenokuni.

THINGS TO PROTECT
Himiko attacks the second Takeru`s group returns to Nenokuni. Kotono attempts to protect Takeru, but her spirit is blown away in the process. With the four sacred beast`s help, they set out to retrieve her spirit before it`s too late.

YOMOTSU-HIRASAKA
Takeru and company arrive in Yomotsu-Hirasaka, the land where spirits of the dead dwell.

RAGING HEART
Takeshi has learned the truth behind Susano-Oh`s spirit. It`s time for he and Takeru to settle the score between them once and for all.

THE TWO SPIRITS
Takeru reaches Himiko`s shrine, but more ordeals stand in his way. Thus begins the race against time to bring Takeshi to his senses and stop Himiko.
